Our customers are our top priority. In order for you, the customer, to get the best product from A Sporting Chance, the quality of your photograph is crucial to the quality of the product you receive. Although we will endeavor to make your photograph print ready, the card quality is very dependent on the quality of the original photograph you take.
Please take a few moments to read the following helpful guidelines for taking the best photo for your cards from A Sporting Chance.
Please note: Each image submitter is required by law to own the right to, or to obtain permission to, reproduce any image before it is uploaded or printed by A Sporting Chance. This is the responsibility of the submitter and not A Sporting Chance, so if you are using a professional photograph, they may be the owner of that image and may be the only person permitted to reproduce it. Please contact the professional photographer first if you are using an image taken by them
• In the case of our sports cards, an outside location works best, ideally with green in the background. This can include the back garden on the grass, next to bushes or with flowers or goal-posts in the background.
• Don’t shoot the photograph into direct sunlight, but ensure there is sufficient lighting to get a good quality portrait.
• The ideal pose is a head and shoulders shot, taken close to the child. Photos that must be zoomed in or cropped are of a much lesser quality.
• Encourage your child to hold a ball in the photograph. They should hold this up close to their face as to be best included on the card.
• Remember - your card is a lifelong keepsake, so ensure your child is happy to be photographed and in good form. We suggest picking a time and place when they are most comfortable.
• Unfortunately, a bad quality photo means a bad quality product. A Sporting Chance will not deem the product defective in the case of a poor quality photograph. Please check the "Terms and Conditions," which deal with this matter on our website.
• When you have taken your quality photo, simply plug your camera into your computer or laptop, upload the photo and save the file in an easily reachable location on your hard drive. This will then be accessible to A Sporting Chance after you build your card online.
